Call for Nominations for Open AZENet Board of Director Positions

AZENet is seeking nominations for two elected Board of Director positions and three appointed positions, due April 15, 2017

This year AZENet will elect a President-Elect and Secretary at the AZENet Annual Membership Meeting, which will be held on 4/28 during the 2017 Spring Conference. The Board is also looking to fill three appointed positions: VP of Professional Development, VP of Planning and Development, and Regional Cluster Chairs. See position descriptions below.

Nominations Process
You may nominate yourself or a committed AZENet colleague to the Nominating Committee for any elected and/or appointed position. Please email nominations to the
Nominating Committee Chair, Immediate Past President Maria Aguilar-Amaya at mamaya@courts.az.gov. Nominations should include the following: contact information for nominee; position(s) desired; nominee statement of interest in serving in the position; and nominee resume or CV. Please send nominations for elected and/or appointed positions by April 15, 2017.

Qualifications and Time Commitment

Any AZENet member who is in good standing with our organization is eligible for nomination. Members shall represent all contingents of the membership population, including diverse disciplines, geographic, and ethnic diversity.

The AZENet Board meets monthly for a 1 hour conference call. In-person meetings are typically held twice a year in place of conference calls and last 3-4 hours. An in-person Annual Membership Meeting takes place once a year, and is typically held in conjunction with the Spring Conference. 

Board members serve without compensation, but may be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.

Elected Positions Open in 2017
 
Elected positions will be voted on at the Annual Meeting on 4/28, during the Spring 2017 Conference. Ballots will be cast by the membership during this meeting, and collected and tabulated by the Nominations Committee Chair and Secretary. Results will be announced at the end of the Spring Conference.

President-Elect - This position is a one-year term with three-year commitment, beginning on April 28, 2017. This position transitions to the President in year 2 and Immediate Past President in year 3. The President-Elect is responsible for: planning the Annual Meeting/Spring Conference; coordinating with regional groups for workshops; assuming the duties of the President in their absence, resignation, or incapacity; and complying with all AZENet by-laws and amendments.

Secretary -
This position is a two-year term, beginning on April 28, 2017. The Secretary is responsible for: maintaining all AZENet documents; taking and maintaining accurate minutes of meetings and distributing them to Board members; keeping and updating member records, with support from the VP for Membership; and conducting the annual election process at the Annual Meeting.

Appointed Positions Open in 2017
The AZENet Board also has open appointed positions, which do not require a vote at the Annual Membership Meeting. Open appointed positions include:

Vice President of Professional Development - This position is responsible for professional development opportunities for the membership. The VP of Professional Development may appoint a committee as necessary.

Vice President of Planning and Development
- This position is responsible for solicitation of funds in the name of AZENet; developing a plan to acquire financial resources; and securing scholarships for student members. The VP of Planning and Development may appoint a committee as necessary.

Regional Cluster Chair - AZENet has two active regional clusters, one in Tucson and one in Phoenix. We are seeking individual(s) interested in becoming the Tucson Cluster Chair/Co-Chairs. We also welcome the development of regional clusters and Chairs in other locations throughout Arizona. Cluster Chairs schedule and promote cluster meetings at local locations. AZENet provides Cluster Chairs with funds to host and promote events.

Arizona Evaluation Network is a non-profit 501(C)6 organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening a vibrant community of aspiring and established Arizona-based program evaluators by promoting meaningful connections, elevating the evaluation field across Arizona, and facilitating continuous learning.
